Amplitude sponsors the Fulbright-Tocqueville Distinguished Chair for 2017 | February 6, 2017

The Fulbright Program is the most prestigious international educational exchange program supported by the U.S. government. In 2005, the Fulbright-Tocqueville Distinguished Chair Award was created to encourage and support research collaboration between the United States and France in variety of academic disciplines.

The 2017 Distinguished Chair was awarded to Professor Martin Richardson from the University of Central Florida, College of Optics and Photonics (CREOL). Prof. Richardson, Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Bordeaux, joined the University of Bordeaux for a year of academic collaboration.

Amplitude, a long-time contributor and supporter of the University of Bordeaux, is delighted to welcome Professor Martin Richardson, a leading scholar in the field of Lasers and Photonics, as a Distinguished Chair for 2017. The Fulbright-Tocqueville Distinguished Chair, a symbol of French-American friendship, resonates with the French-American culture of the company. The North American operations of Amplitude are based in the US at its manufacturing facility in San Jose, CA.
